Wonderful news!!! I thought there was a bit of a bump on the last Tonite Show performance…

Wonderful news indeed ! Couldn’t be more ecstatic for you – I extend my deepest wishes and prayers to you both for a safe, and (because of your back problem) uncomplicated pregnancy. Mum and Dad must be beside themselves beaming with joy and pride as well as the rest of the Clabby clan and Higham family. So on behalf of Toronto, congratulations once again – stay tuff, but most importantly be safe and healthy.

Take care my sweet , Steven

Awwww…that’s wonderful! Alas, I’ll have to wait to see Imelda live in the States! I’m a brand new fan, just downloaded “Mayhem” and haven’t stopped listening to the Les Paul tribute with Jeff Beck. Couldn’t be happier for Imelda and Darrel. Hope all is blissful and beautiful! That baby will have the best voice in the world singing his or her lullabyes. How lucky!

I was just wondering If Darrel ever did any of Jim Reeves music.

  7. Posted by Eileen Howard    23/02/2012 06:47

Does anyone have a decent version of Imelda and Bono, I would buy it, anywhere, but there is nothing out there that I can find, I love the christmas song and desire, but it is not really well video taped anywhere. And could you put a good version of Pulling the Rug, on this site, I love reading your letters, and listening to your music at the same time, I have all your CD’s but they are alway out in my car.

So happy for you Imelda. I cannot you were not even mentioned at the Grammys. A lot of people here in the States love you. Looking forward to new stuff. I have an idea for a song if you would like to hear it. The ballad of Rosin and Brendan.

For fan Eileen Howard – saw your request for a good version of Pulling The Rug. If you haven’t already, check out the YouTube vids “Other Voices Feb 2010″. Video is a little out of sync, but fantastic performance – also Eternity, an accoustical version of Kentish Town, and an absolutely hauntingly beautiful version of Knock 123 that is sung so pitch perfect, it’ll give you goosebumps (at least it does to me). Hope that helps you out

    Steve

Thanks Steve, were you at the toronto gig last Aug. that was so brilliant, I only discovered Imelda May on Leno about 10 days before the gig, I am in London ontario , and I ran all over getting two tickets and bus tickets, I was gonna see that gig If I had to sell my soul. Fortunately I didn’t have to sell my soul, just my husband, haha, I looked at all the video’s you showed me and you are right about Knock 123, shivers. Maybe if they play toronto again, we can meet at the gig. that would be fun. Thanks for the video info. I keep wondering who was pulling the rug, she always writes about her life, I wouldn’t dare pull a rug from under that little spitfire. she tells about what the other songs are written about but not that one. hmmmm. oh well, she is entitled to some privacy. I just can’t wait to see their baby, little one will be a darling, if anything like his parents. Darrel called the dog his “other son” so I am guessing they think the human child to be is a boy. Darrel has a great voice too. but this baby might be a scientist, who knows. Thanks again. IF they could come to london Steve, you can come stay with us for the night, my husbands name is also steve. so at least I won’t forget your name. Eileen

Eileen, you’re welcome-glad to help out a fan (and fellow Cdn). Unfortuneately, I missed her Horseshoe Tavern gig-I only discovered her in Sept. after a repeat of the Graham Norton Show on BBC Canada. A few days later, I went on YouTube and opened Pandora’s Box and the rest, as they say……Downloaded some great interviews-some serious, some humourous (she’s one sick puppy) as well as a few live performances from ‘08,’10, &’11 to make up for the loss of seeing her in person. Shocker was seeing her perform the songs Psycho, Mayhem and Blue’s Calling years before the More Mayhem album release. My audio collection is almost complete – I have No Turning Back and the 2 disc Love Tattoo (had to buy those from the UK) so now I just need to order her albums from her Blue Harlem days, and I’ll be all set.

Congratulations!!!!! I am a VERY new fan…caught you on Rachel Ray’s show and automatically fell in love with your look, your sound, the entire package! I wish only the best for you and your family and CANNOT wait to see what the future holds for you. I hope to help promote you and your music here in the US and hope that you will tour here in the next year or so. Also-if you don’t know of the band The Dresden Dolls you should check them out. I think you could do an awesome collaboration with them!

Best wishes from one of your newest fans!!!
